The Girls

I can't get over how fast time goes. Linzie is already a week and a half old. She had her first check up on Thursday and is doing great. She is back to her birth weight, has grown 1/2 an inch and is over the jaundice, so things are looking good. She is a great baby and is handling all the kisses and hugs she gets from Kenzie very well. We are very grateful to everyone for the calls, visits, emails, food, and gifts that have come our way. We are so blessed to be surrounded by family and good friends.

Kenzie is finding plenty to do to stay entertained, including dressing herself in winter gear and wandering around the house.
We have tried to get Kenzie outside to enjoy the sun a little the last few days (can you believe it is 40 degrees in Utah in January?). Her aunt Karlee gave her a pair of Wranglers for Christmas and although they still have room for her to grow into them, she insisted on wearing them...and looks really cute in them. She loves them, especially with her snow boots!

Linzie at one week. We will do the pictures by the bear each month to see how she is growing. We have had just over a week to remember all of the things you forget about once you don't have a newborn, like how many diapers and wipes they go through, how many clothes OxyClean saves, and how much you can love and be mesmerized by a little being who doesn't do much but eat, sleep, and poop.

And, here a is a shot of world's best dad with his princesses. Jared has been so great and even surprised me, coming home from work early yesterday and taking care of the girls so I could take a nap. What a guy! I love you.
And a side note---as I'm writing this, Kenzie is sitting here asking for beans to eat. Yes! Every parent's dream come true. My child is not like me and is begging to eat vegetables!!! Does it get any better than this?

Linzie Gwen

Linzie Gwen decided to come about a week early. Kristee went into labor yesterday morning and we got to drive through a blizzard to get to the hospital, and Linzie was born at 1:30 in the afternoon. She weighed in at 7 lb 1 oz and was 19 inches long. Both Linzie and Kristee are doing great. We are really excited to have our new daughter in our family.

Kenzie got to stay at my sister Heidi's house yesterday. I went and picked her up this morning and she got to meet her little sister. She was a little sad at first but is starting to warm up to her. She is really clingy to me, which doesn't usually happen. She even insisted that I be the one to do her hair this morning, which I don't really know how to do.

Christmas Fun

Kenzie's first time of really playing in the snow. In her snow pants and boots, she looks like she just walked out of "The Christmas Story", but had fun playing for a few minutes until the wind started blowing.

Making ginger bread houses on Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Christensen's. More candy was consumed than made it on the house. Christmas Eve was filled with ginger bread houses, family skits, dinner, and the nativity. And, of course, a lot of fun with cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Christmas morning at home. We had such a fun morning, but rushed it a little so we could beat the storm on our way to Morgan. Christmas day was, of course, filled with "pesents" (presents), visiting with Grandma Clark, homemade Chinese food, a serious game of BINGO, lots and lots of homemade candy and shrimp dip (let's just say we've all been a little ill from all we've eaten over the last week...but hey, where is the rest of the fudge!), and playing with Grandpa and Grandma Adams, Cousin Tate, and the aunts and uncles.

Day after Christmas was spent helping at Grandpa and Grandmas new, almost finished, house and more playing in the snow. The idea of getting on the snowmobile was very appealing as you can see from the picture. Kenzie enjoyed Karlee holding her much more than she enjoyed even getting close to the snowmobile. This outdoor adventure and snow playing was even shorter than the first. Amazing the work we go to to get kids dressed to play outside for them to only stay out two minutes!

One of the greatest parts of Christmas for Jared is that he gets to try to grow the "Christmas beard" because he has a few days off for it to grow out. One of the greatest parts for me is when he shaves off the "Christmas beard".

Overall, a very merry Christmas!!

We are still here!

Yes, I haven't posted for quite awhile, but we are still here and doing well. No, we haven't had our baby yet, which would be a good excuse for not updating, but alas, my only excuse is laziness or failure to make time to do it.

Rather than give a recap of the last month and a half, I will just say that we had a great Thanksgiving with the Adams fam and that we have are looking forward to a fun Christmas. I keep thinking I have time until Christmas and then I look at our calendar and start to panic. With all of the holiday events going on, there really are few days until Christmas is here.

Last weekend we had the Clark family Christmas party. It turns out that both my mom and dad's sides of the family rent out a bowling alley and party there. This was Kenzie's first bowling experience. I don't know if she had more fun bowling or crawling under the benches. I do know that she loved being with her cousins and watching baby Kate. She currently is obsessed with babies. We hope it lasts and that she is as excited about her sister as she is about every other baby in the world.
Kenzie is talking so much now. She has the cutest little voice and is getting to where she can and does express her opinions. I love Christmas, but I think this one will be one of the funnest ever. Kenzie understands more what is going on and loves the fun things about the season. Every morning when she wakes up, she comes out and asks for "yites" (lights) and "micha" (music). She loves to have the Christmas tree lights on and Christmas music playing. She got a pre Chrismas gift from Grandma Adams-- a santa shirt, red pants and a necklace with bells. We have to wear the "nacha" (necklace) everyday.

We are so blessed and have so much to be thankful for. Everyday, I am amazed at how blessed I am. Two of my greatest blessings...

I'm glad to have this holiday season to reflect on my blessings, especially on our Savior and His life. We wish you all a very merry Christmas season.
