A Merry Little Christmas

Christmas, as always, was wonderful. It was extra special to have Kenzie this year and be able to have the fun and excitement that a child brings to the holiday. We started our festivities at the Christensens on Christmas Eve, making gingerbread houses, having dinner, enacting the Christmas story, doing skits, and opening presents. Once those who had to drive home had left, we rewatched the skits and then visited until the wee hours of the morning. It was a great night.
We woke up and opened our presents before we took Kenzie out to open hers with the Grandparents and Aunts and Uncle. This will be the only time in our lives I think that we will be able to open presents before the kids!
Kenzie looks a little dazed here, but she really did enjoy tearing open presents. By the end, she was getting pretty good at ripping and tearing. She loved the paper as much as anything that was wrapped in it.


On Christmas day we went to Morgan to spend the day with my family. My grandparents were there for dinner. This is one of my favorite photos of the day--my grandpa and sister in their new hats. We had dinner, opened more presents, napped, played with Kyle's new Wii and just had a great day.

The day after Christmas, we all went to the hospital in Provo where Bryce and Aubrey were waiting the arrival of their baby. Aub had been on hospital bed rest for over a week and had to spend Christmas there, so we saved our traditional BINGO game until we could go be with them. Classic BINGO---a bowling ball from the DI and adult size footy pajamas were the best prizes of the day!On Christmas Day, Jared's aunt Kathy passed away after a battle with cancer. She was an amazing woman and has always been very supportive of us. She will be greatly missed. We attended her viewing on Friday and funeral on Saturday. On Saturday, at 4:30, we also got the news that baby Tate had been born. It was a day of profound reflection on life and how miraculous and precious it is. How grateful we are for our Savior and the promise of eternal life.
