Kenzie's Blessing and Other Adventures

Kenzie was blessed last Sunday. It was a perfect day! Jared gave her a beautiful blessing (and didn't slip in a middle name :) ). She looked adorable in her long white dress. When we went shoping for her dress the week before, I couldn't help but think that it might be the easiest dress shopping we ever do. From here on out, the dresses for special occasions will have to be tried on and she will be able to speak her opinion about the dress. I guess you have to appreciate everything about them being little while it lasts.

Cathy was in town for the blessing and it was great to have her there. My mom and dad had been quite sick all of the week before, but were able to make it. They resisted holding the baby and didn't get too close to anyone, but I was so glad they were there!

We had a great time having lunch with everyone at Steve and Heidi's house afterwards. They were so nice to let us use their house and yard even though they hadn't even really ever lived there yet themselves. Hopefully, within the next few weeks we will have our yard. We have the basketball court poured and more cement should be arriving today or tomorrow. After that, we can, hopefully, really get moving on things.

Kenzie is growing fast. She is now almost 2 months old. She is a lot more alert and gives big smiles and once in awhile, almost laughs. She has had a lot of adventures in the last month. She's already been to the zoo, a funeral, and a viewing. She's been to Morgan and to Salt Lake a number of times. Has been to a matinee movie, out to dinner, and even visiting teaching. She was also the first person to throw up on the carpet in Uncle Steve's new dental office. She is a great kid and bares with us as we try to learn how to do this parenting thing. Katee and the boys were here during May so we got together with them as often as we could. We loved spending time with them and with the Adams fam and hope they will be back soon! I'm just glad Kenzie travels well and is so happy with other people. It makes coming and going so much easier.
